Approx 6 months after the show, yesterday at 13.00 i released the “Bhinneka Tunggal Tawa” DVD
My 1st stand-up special presented in 105 mins duration (+ bonus features)
Even though people can watch 7 videos of it for free on youtube, sales are unexpectedly high.
Interesting fact: after over 50.000 total views of the free BTT on youtube, 5000 viewed the online store on opening day, 500 purchases on the DVD in 1 day.
The key of freemium remains the same: To get more people paying the premium version, focus on getting more people using the free version.
The odds will reveal itself.
Of all the people using gmail for free, there will be a selected few who are willing to pay for a premium version.
Same thing applies to ipad/ iphone apps
Same thing applies to my albums “Merdesa” and “32”
Same thing applies on Bhinneka Tunggal Tawa DVD.
The strategy im using, is inspired by several
books incl: Remix by Lawrence Lessig, Predictably Irrational by Dan Ariely, Pirate’s Dilemma by Matt Mason, Free by Chris Anderson.
You can check out some or perhaps all of those book to absorb the same inspiration i get.
A little something for the mind, a freemium lesson
